Vorterra Welcomes Former California Secretary of Agriculture A.G. Kawamura to the Team

San Juan Capistrano, CA — Vorterra, a pioneering company at the forefront of structured water and regenerative agriculture technology, is proud to announce that Arthur Gen “A.G.” Kawamura has joined the Vorterra team as a senior strategic advisor.

A third-generation fruit and vegetable grower and shipper from Orange County, A.G. Kawamura brings a lifetime of agricultural expertise, policy insight, and global perspective to Vorterra’s mission of transforming how water impacts food systems, soil health, and nutrient density.

From 2003 to 2010, Kawamura served as the California Secretary of Agriculture, guiding one of the world’s most vital food economies through an era of innovation and sustainability. Beyond his leadership in California, he is widely recognized for his national and international work shaping the future of agriculture. He currently serves as co-chair of Solutions from the Land, a forward-thinking initiative supported by the United Nations Foundation, Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, and the Farm Foundation. The project is focused on building a sustainable roadmap for 21st-century agricultural systems.

Kawamura is also a national steering committee member of 25x25, a renewable energy coalition bringing together leaders from farming, forestry, conservation, and environmental sectors to unlock the untapped potential of America’s rural landscapes. He serves on the Native Pollinators Advisory Committee, further demonstrating his commitment to biodiversity and ecological stewardship.

“We’re honored to welcome A.G. to the Vorterra team,” said Bryan Ingram, founder of Vorterra. “His legacy in agriculture and deep commitment to sustainable systems align perfectly with our vision to restore vitality to land and water. With his guidance, we’re accelerating our impact across farms, resorts, and food systems worldwide.”

Kawamura’s addition marks a significant milestone for Vorterra as the company scales its regenerative technology, integrating structured water into large-scale agricultural operations, public-private sustainability programs, and food production systems globally."
